MakingThings is pleased to announce its Flash Class Library for the Teleo™ product line. For the first time ever, Flash programmers can easily combine Flash with external hardware and to create interactive applications that sense, move and interact in the physical world.
This opens up a new world of possibility for the Flash community - no electronics or mechanical expertise required, and it's easy to get started. All you need is the Teleo hardware, the Teleo XML Server (a free download from our site) and your Flash application.

Downloadable files are available below. They're free and they include the following:
>Teleo Flash Class Library
>Teleo XML Server & USB Driver
>Sample Applications & Simulations
For more detailed information
about the Flash Class Library, how it works and how to get started,
please see the Teleo
Flash User Guide. For detailed instructions
concerning the release and installation, see the ReadMe.
This release is for users of Windows, Mac OS X and Linux x86. Please note that our Flash Class Library is compatible as of Flash MX 2004. Earlier versions of Flash are not supported.
Finally, if you're not yet familiar with the Teleo product line, please feel free to browse the rest of the site. Click on the Teleo section to explore how designers and developers are already working with Teleo. Click on the Products section to browse and shop for specific modules, sensors and motors.

Teleo
Flash Class Library |
|
The Teleo Flash Class Library
contains classes available to the application programmer.
The user is free to decide whether to use the automated Extension
Manager package (recommended), or place the files manually from the .zip archive with the source in it. The
Teleo Flash Class Library is source code only (i.e. no other resources)
so placing the files manually is a reasonable thing to attempt.

Teleo
XML Server & USB Driver |
|
The Teleo XML Server acts as
the connection between the Flash application and the Teleo Hardware. Before you can successfully establish
this connection under Windows and Mac OS X, you will need to download
and install the USB Drivers. Linux has the drivers already built
into the kernel.
Note - the Teleo XML server does not currently work on Intel Macs. The USB driver provided is up to date, but the server is not. We're currently working on this and hope to have a revised version in the near future. Please report any questions to support@makingthings.com. Apologies for the inconvenience.

| Quick Starts |
Use these applications to quickly start working with Teleo and Flash without having to start coding from scratch. .FLA sample files for each type of input and output for each of the Teleo Modules are convenient for cutting and pasting code into your own project. Alternatively, simply connect your Teleo devices and run the .SWF file as a quick test.
Each package contains both the .FLA and .SWF files. |
