GENERAL PROBLEMS |
- after attaching cables and applying power, the green LED's do not blink
- module does not seem to work immediately
- power regulators on many modules heat up considerably
- one module's power regulator heats up considerably
- applications that talk to the Teleo system crash or become unresponsive
- communication is not possible or unreliable with some or all modules on the system
|
PROBLEM : after attaching cables and applying power, the green LED's do not blink |
Affected Modules: all
Check:
- Is the power supply plugged in to a live wall outlet? Check the wall outlet with a lamp or some other known good appliance.
- Is the TeleoNetwork cable plugged in properly to the Intro Module? The connectors are keyed to prevent incorrect insertion, but particularly motivated people can force them in the wrong way. This is very bad since it puts the power on the board the wrong way.
- Is the Teleo Network cable or the wire from the power supply damaged?
- If all this fails, contact support@makingthings.com

PROBLEM : power regulators on many modules heat up considerably |
Affected Modules: all
Check:
- Is your power supply's voltage higher than 30V? If so, the regulators may be working too hard to create the 5V needed for the module electronics. Choose another power supply.
|
PROBLEM : one module's power regulator heats up considerably |
Affected Modules: all
Check:
- Your module may be consuming too much power from the 5V circuit. The 5V line on the boards that have it is designed to supply very small currents only. Check for devices that consume more than 100mA or possible short circuits.
|
PROBLEM : applications that talk to the Teleo system crash or become unresponsive |
Affected Modules: all
Check:
- On some operating systems, the low level drivers for the USB chip become unstable if the connection is interrupted to the USB chip for any reason. Try to disconnect the Intro Module from the power only when no application is running.
|
PROBLEM : communication is not possible or unreliable with some or all modules on the system |
Affected Modules: all
Check:
- If you can communicate with the Intro Module, then there's a possibility that your network topology is too complex or not linear enough.
