Input Block

The Input Block is a simple device that can supply inputs of various kinds to other parts of a project. It was developed to serve as a test device - to supply input signals that might be supplied by sensors or other devices in the finished system. The Input Block can also supply voltages to other blocks to control their operation.

How Do I Use This?
The Input Block needs to be connected to 0V and 5V, on either one of its two pairs of 0V/5V connectors. Once power is connected, run a piece of wire from any of the outputs to an input on another board (a Poly Block, a Servo Block, an Intro Module, etc.). Depending on the device you've selected, you'll be able to send several different kinds of signals.

- Push buttons send momentary 5V pulses to a receiver. Otherwise, the output is 0V.
- The four DIP switches can each send 0V or 5V, depending on their position.
- You can dial in an analog voltage from 0V to 5V with the two trimpots for receivers that require a voltage.

Applications
- Test Device. Simulate several different kinds of sensor input all on one board with no messy power connections.
