What sensor can I used to detect someone standing or walking?

A: The following methods detect either the weight or the impact of a person walking or standing on a device:

1. Pressure mat for burglar alarm, e.g.

2. Piezo cable from Measurement specialities:

3. Pressure sensor from MakingThings, along with a suitable platform and fulcrum so that the weight of a person will be transmitted to the pressure sensor.

What kinds of motors can I use with Teleo?

There are 3 ways to control a motor using Teleo.

With a digital output you can simply turn a motor on and off. Modules with Digital Outputs are the Introductory, the Multi IO, and the Digital Out Modules. All of these can control motors up to about 2A.

With a PWM output you can turn the motor on and off and control the speed, but you can not reverse the motor. Modules with PWM Outputs are the Introductory and the Multi IO Modules. Each of these can control motors up to about 2A.

With a full H-bridge based motor controller, you can turn the motor on and off, control the speed, the direction, and you can apply brakes. You can measure the current the motor is drawing, and there are inputs for limit switches and position encoders. The Teleo 2X2 Motor Controller Module provides two independent 2A motor controllers on one module.

We have provided sockets for the output transistors on all our modules, in case you need to replace them. These are the components that are usually damaged by attaching too large a load.
