The PIR (Passive Infrared) sensor is the same element used in many burglar alarm and motion-activated light systems. It's designed for human body detection, so it's great for detecting when somebody approaches your project. Detects motion up to 10 feet, and comes assembled with 1' wire leads, ready for immediate connection to the Make Controller.

The PIR sensor has three wires, which should be connected to the Make Controller Kit as follows:

• 5V (red) to a VIn on the Controller set to 5V.
• Ground (black) to a GND connector on the board.
• Signal (yellow) to an Analog In, 0-7.
