MakingThings provides software and electronics tools that enable creative people from a wide variety of backgrounds to create projects that interact with the physical world.

The Make Controller Kit is an open-source project platform - a full-featured and robust I/O board designed to be sturdy enough to withstand the experimentation of beginners, and powerful enough to satisfy experienced developers.

The Make Controller can be programmed to run standalone, or it can interface to desktop programs like Flash, C/C++, Max/MSP, Processing, and more.  An emphasis is put on ease of use and clear documentation to welcome people from a variety of technical skill levels.

People are using the Make Controller in many areas - product design, interactive art installations, custom control devices, DIY home automation, architectural models, etc.
