I am looking for some suggestions for the most powerful, highest torque stepper motors that the make controller can handle? Links to recommended parts would be spectacular. Thanks, Rick

Hi Rick. I can't suggest specific parts because I don't have any experience with high torque steppers (they're out of my price range). But as far as the Make Controller's limitations go... The largest external power supply that the board can handle is about 30V. You also have to watch the current, because the driver chips can only drive about an amp. If you choose a motor that is 30V/1amp, you might want to use heat sink on the chip. Hope this helps, Kate

Hello Kate, Thank you for the reply. I appreciate your feedback. I am aware of the Make Controller limitations but would like some suggestions for steppers that take full advantage of the Make Controllers capabilities. I have a wide variety of salvaged steppers, but need a good resource/supplier so I don't have to worry about spare parts and/or mismatched components. Thanks again, Rick

I see. Well, here's a link to our resources page where MakingThings gets motors, sensors, etc. Maybe you'll find something... http://www.makingthings.com/resources/links Best, Kate
